Stephen (Steve) Hansen, FCIP
Steve Hansen brings over three decades of insurance expertise to Hansen Adjusting Solutions. Before founding the firm and becoming a licensed Public Adjuster in 2021, Steve spent 36 years working within the general insurance industry—an experience that sets him apart from most other Public Adjusters in Canada.
As an Executive General Adjuster engaged by major national Insurers, Steve personally handled some of the most complex and high-value insurance claims in Western and Northern Canada, with direct responsibility for files ranging from residential or commercial fires and flood losses to builder’s risk and environmental liability—some exceeding $100 million in value.
Since transitioning to the policyholder side, Steve has led some of the most challenging insurance recoveries in recent years. His expertise has unlocked coverage in claims previously denied, and he has consistently delivered multi-million-dollar results to clients ranging from families and homeowners to condominium corporations and national institutions.
In addition to his adjusting practice, Steve is a sought-after Umpire under Dispute Resolution clauses across Alberta and British Columbia and frequently serves as “Representative”, expert liaison, or consultant to legal teams. He is known for his strategic thinking, encyclopedic knowledge of policy forms, and a professional commitment to excellence, expertise, and ethics.
Steve holds the Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation and studied Business Management at the University of Alberta.
